A simple pdf tool to help non-speakers access communication.
Recently, I am finding myself in scenarios where I am asked to work with individuals that do not have a functional communication system. Their current systems are often inadequate and their care partners often rely on the individual’s receptive language, gestures, and yes/no questions.
I decided to trial a finger spelling tool and so far, progress. I have already seen some of these individuals light up when they realize I am putting more effort into attempting to communicate with them.
Initially, I searched the internet to find a pdf that would suit my needs and when I did not find one, I made one on Canva.
